The benefits of an effective skincare routine for aging successfully are endless. However, building a good and practical one is quite the challenge. As we age our skin begins to lose elasticity and morphological changes in the form of wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and acne become more and more apparent.

Our need to prevent future skin problems while correcting existing ones reinforces the need to establish an effective skincare regimen and skincare routine using potent ingredients and well-formulated skincare products.

To further add to our skincare woes- aging successfully is more than just applying proven skincare and adhering to a face care routine- it’s understanding how to layer these skincare products to ensure that it penetrates the deeper layer of the skin, the dermis, and has the most benefit. A good skincare routine consists of multiple steps using good skincare products, potent ingredients, and patience.

The basics of a good skincare routine

Our skin is the largest organ on our body and serves as a barometer of health. If we think of our skin like a sponge, we understand there is a limit to which the skin can absorb liquid, skincare creams, and gels. As we apply skincare products to our skin, the rate of which our sponge absorbs liquid slows with each step. When curating your skincare regimen, understanding how to maximize product potential is essential.

For this reason, starting with thinner products first with a high concentration of actives, and finishing with thicker products that serve as occlusives allows for maximum product absorption and often leads to optimal results. At a minimum, your skincare routine should consist of three products applied twice daily: 1) a Cleanser, 2) a Serum, and 3) an Eye Cream.

First, cleanse the palette

It is hard to imagine any skincare regimen functioning on dirty skin. For your skincare to be effective it needs to be applied to a clean face.

Use Soft-Scrub Detergente

Start your skincare routine with a gentle cleanser such as Soft-Scrub Detergente. This milky skincare cleanser can be used to remove make-up, grime, and dirt that has accumulated throughout the day. It is formulated with triglycerides, a skin conditioning agent and, occlusive, in addition to humectants such as aloe vera.

Despite being an exfoliating scrub, this formula was made to be extremely gentle on the skin with spherical microspheres that delicately glide across the skin with no friction. If you feel your skin needs more cleansing the Soft-Scrub Detergente is gentle enough to be used to double-cleanse the skin as well. Once clean, lightly pat your face with a towel leaving your skin damp.

Hydrate Your Skin with a Serum

Serums are oftentimes more potent than moisturizers as they penetrate deep into the dermis. While penetrating deep into your skin, they work to protect your face from harmful external stimuli while visibly replenishing your skin.

The Perfect Serum

Consider applying a serum like the Perfect Serum  that is formulated to nourish your skin. The Perfect Serum is made with ingredients such as glycerin and shea butter.

The glycerin in this formula functions as a moisture-binding humectant that pulls moisture into the skin while shea butter soothes the skin with vitamins and fatty acids.

The cosmetic neuropeptides in the Perfect Serum work to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with regular use. This product is so rich and hydrating that following with a traditional moisturizer is not necessary.

Apply Eye Cream

The undereye area is extremely delicate and is the first to show signs of aging on the face. The undereye contains the least amount of oil glands of all the areas of the face making it more susceptible to wrinkles and volume loss.

The Perfect Eye Cream

Keeping the undereye hydrated with an eye cream such as the Perfect Eye Cream is one way to slow the signs of aging.

The Perfect Eye Cream is formulated with bioactive compounds like Sorghum Bicolor Bran Extract, a botanical ingredient with anti-inflammatory properties. The Perfect Eye Cream also contains neuropeptides to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Repetition is key

A consistent and regular skincare regimen plays an important role in aging and its prevention. Routine skincare replenishes our skin with vital nutrients that are lost throughout the day and prevents skin conditions like acne and wrinkles.

And it is important to remember that even the most potent of products will not be able to compete with inconsistent use.
